Research Topic: Outcomes of Adult Cochlear Implant Users in Nova Scotia

Research Project: Individuals with hearing loss face a higher risk of experiencing a lower quality of life compared to their hearing peers. Socioeconomic and ethnic factors can further influence the quality of life for these individuals. Hearing rehabilitation is essential for helping those with hearing loss stay active in their social lives and improve their overall well-being. As of 2019, just over 13,000 Canadians use cochlear implants. In my thesis, I plan to examine the quality of life and the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of adults with cochlear implants in Nova Scotia. I will also explore the healthcare system's role in assessing adults with hearing loss and suggest strategies to enhance accessibility and education.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, hiking, and discovering new restaurants and coffee shops.
