Dr. Steven J. Aiken is an Associate Professor at the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD) at Dalhousie University, with a cross-appointment in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. His research focuses on assessing auditory function at the brainstem and cortical levels through evoked responses, with a particular emphasis on complex, functionally significant sounds such as speech and music. Dr. Aiken’s areas of expertise encompass human auditory electrophysiology, cortical event-related potentials, noise-induced hearing loss, and binaural processing.
